How your NAX interview works

NAX is THEBRG Malaysia's AI digital interviewer. It runs one recorded conversation with you, asks the questions our hiring team prepared for your role, gives you a real live task, and sends the recording plus a written summary to a human reviewer. Read this page once before you start — it takes about three minutes and there are no surprises afterwards.

01 Open your invitation link
You receive a private link by email. It works on a laptop or desktop browser only — Chrome or Edge is recommended. If your interview was scheduled for a specific date and time, the link shows a live countdown and unlocks itself at the exact moment.
- Do not share the link — it can only be used once.
- Sit somewhere quiet with stable internet.
02 Choose your language
Pick English, Bahasa Malaysia or 中文. Every instruction, question, subtitle and your final summary will follow that choice. The AI understands mixed speech, so a little English inside Malay or Mandarin is perfectly fine.
- Pick the language you speak most naturally.
- You cannot change it once the interview starts.
03 Read the tutorial
A short walkthrough explains the rules, the recording, and what the AI is listening for. Take your time here — nothing is being recorded yet.
- Close every other tab and app before continuing.
04 Fill in your details
Enter your name, IC/NRIC, contact details, education and experience, and upload your resume as a PDF. This is what the reviewer reads next to your recording.
- Use the same IC number as on your document.
- Keep the resume under 10 MB.
05 Device check and selfie
We test your camera, microphone and connection, then capture one selfie. During the interview the system quietly checks that the person on camera is still the same person from that selfie.
- Good lighting on your face, no cap, no sunglasses.
- Use earphones if your room echoes.
06 The interview
The AI asks the questions out loud, one at a time, and listens to your answer. Speak naturally in full sentences. Your role also includes one live task — for example pitching a product on camera or solving a real problem out loud — with its own timer.
- There is only one take, so treat it like a real room.
- If you truly need to stop, use Give Up — it ends the session immediately and we are notified.
07 Result
When you finish, the recording, transcript and an AI summary go to our hiring team. You receive a reference code by email and can check your status any time on the Result page.
- Keep your reference code.
- You are emailed the moment your result is ready.
Rules that are enforced automatically
NAX records more than your answers. Breaking these does not end your interview instantly, but it is flagged for the reviewer.
- Stay on the interview tab. Switching tabs or windows is detected and timed.
- Screen sharing, picture-in-picture and second displays are blocked.
- Your face must stay visible and match your selfie throughout.
- No one else may appear on camera or answer for you.
- Reading from a script is obvious in the transcript — answer from experience.
- Each IC number is allowed a maximum of two attempts.
Common questions
How long does it take?+
Most interviews run between 15 and 30 minutes including the live task. Set aside a full hour so you are never rushed.
Can I pause or restart?+
No. It is one continuous take, exactly like a live interview room. That is why the device check comes first.
What if my internet drops?+
Everything recorded up to that point is kept. Reopen the link straight away; if it cannot be resumed, email us and we will review what was captured.
Can I use a phone or tablet?+
No. A laptop or desktop is required so the camera, microphone and screen checks work correctly.
Who watches my recording?+
Only THEBRG Malaysia's hiring team. Your recording, selfie and resume are stored privately and are never public.
I answered in mixed languages — is that a problem?+
Not at all. Mixing English into Malay or Mandarin is normal in Malaysia and is scored the same way.
